History
Back in 1990 living in a house was too much for grandma Ponich. With mobility issues, everything from yard work to cleaning was tough - but her house was situated in an amazing location central to everyone's needs.
The family looked and looked, yet there was nothing that was both adequate and had all the important features - affordability, central location, ease for mobility - nor felt like a place you could call home.
The only option was to create and build the perfect place. Thus the ground was broken for Douglas manor in 1992 and completed in 1993.
Hearing of the huge need from other families looking for the same thing, the Ponich family has since expanded. With demand came the creation of four more buildings that also have their own sense of community - a grand total of eighty-nine units.
